Political Science Papers

This page is a collection of articles I have written in the field of political science during my time as an undergraduate at UCSB and Sciences Po, Paris

Right-Wing Populism in Democracies: The United States, France, and England

I wrote this 4000-word final essay on the causes of right-wing populist movements in various countries. It was for a semester-long course, Citizen Politics and Democracy in Times of Crisis. The essay cites core political theorists like Pippa Norris and Ronald Inglehart.

Contemporary Challenges to the Welfare State

I wrote this essay for a course, Social Policies in Europe, while at Sciences Po. It addresses the leading challenges and risks, such as lone parenthood, to the welfare state. I discuss social investment as an overarching solution.

Milling Over Free Will Versus Public Health

I wrote this for an introductory political philosophy course at UCSB. The essay is an application of John Stuart Mill's utilitarian philosophy and the harm principle on modern-day problems.

Twin Crises: Climate change and Systemic inequality

I wrote this essay, a comprehensive analysis of the Green New Deal, as my first essay at UCSB. I wrote it for the course, Poverty, Injustice, and Inequality, which definitely inspired me to change Communication to Political Science.
